Flowers Bloom at Your Fingertips, Brightening Your Life | Hosting a Pressed-Flower Lantern Making Activity for International Women’s Day

As spring grows warmer, flowers bloom in all their glory.

To celebrate the 116th International Women’s Day,

the company’s labor union carefully planned and organized

a themed celebration titled

“Flowers Bloom at Your Fingertips, Brightening Life.”

On the afternoon of March 6,

all female employees gathered in Conference Room 107 of the R&D Building

to enjoy a festive celebration that blended intangible cultural heritage,

honors, and heartfelt care.

The event kicked off in a warm and welcoming atmosphere, presided over by Cui Jing, Vice Chairperson of the Labor Union. On behalf of the company’s Labor Union, Cui Jing extended sincere festive blessings and warm greetings to all female employees and read out the resolution recognizing outstanding female employees. She fully acknowledged the outstanding contributions made by all female employees across various departments and positions within the company, and highly commended them for shouldering “half the sky” of the company’s high-quality development through their hard work and sense of responsibility. She also emphasized that the company has always placed great importance on the growth and development of female talent. It will continue to build platforms for female employees to showcase their talents, improve supportive care mechanisms, and encourage everyone to approach their work with even greater enthusiasm, shining with unique brilliance in their respective roles.

Following the awards ceremony, the highly anticipated workshop on making traditional pressed-flower lanterns took center stage. At the event, Cui Jing delivered a lively presentation titled “Experience the Charm of Intangible Cultural Heritage, Illuminate a Beautiful Life,” detailing the historical origins and craftsmanship of pressed-flower lanterns. She provided a step-by-step demonstration, covering everything from material selection and design concepts to assembly and securing the pieces. The female employees were full of enthusiasm. They eagerly picked up their flower-pressed lantern kits, carefully selecting their favorite floral patterns and green leaves, thoughtfully arranging the designs, and meticulously gluing them together to capture the blossoms of spring and their hopes for a better future on the lanterns. Everyone exchanged tips and shared creative inspiration. Amid laughter and cheerful chatter, the plain lamp surfaces gradually transformed into unique works of art. One by one, pressed-flower lamps blending the charm of intangible cultural heritage with personal ingenuity took shape. The soft glow illuminated everyone’s satisfied smiles as they experienced the unique allure of intangible cultural heritage through this hands-on activity, while also relieving the stress of their daily work.

Exquisite tea was served at the event, creating a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. The female employees gathered together, enjoying the refreshments while chatting about their work experiences and amusing anecdotes from daily life, and sharing the joy of making paper-cut lanterns. Through these interactions, the bonds of friendship among colleagues grew even stronger. In addition, the company prepared practical gift bags, including souvenirs, for all female employees, ensuring that every one of them received a heartfelt token of appreciation.

This event not only highlighted the value of women’s hard work by recognizing outstanding individuals, but also helped preserve traditional culture and strengthen team cohesion through hands-on experiences with intangible cultural heritage crafts, while conveying the company’s warmth through thoughtful gift packages. Everyone expressed their commitment to channeling this inspiration and motivation into their work, dedicating themselves to their roles with renewed enthusiasm and a pragmatic approach. They pledged to continue writing new chapters of hard work as women, contributing more “she-power” to the high-quality development of Dongfang Lingri.
